The Amazing Art Race Challenge 9

Here is an image of my tenth completed challenge. I created my typographic drawing using the word "film" because my object is a film developer reel and without film, it has no purpose.

The criteria for our tenth completed challenge was:

• You must recreate the shape of your object using only words
• You may hand draw or use the computer
• You are only allowed to use words
• The words you use must relate to your object

Here is an image of my ninth challenge completed. I drew my "alternate universe" image based around two of my key components from my mental map; water and film strips.

The criteria for our ninth challenge was:

• Use mixed media (more than one type)
• Use your imagination to create an alternate universe from these ideas
• Must clearly show the ideas from mental map
• Must have details

EXPLANATION:
My universe's source is the bottle of water from my mental map. From the water, I have shown a shower of water as well as incorporating my film strips in the flow as well. The images on my film strips (the stars, aliens, rockets, shooting stars e.t.c) are relative to "the wide universe" and that is why I decided to use them.




MEDIA: I used Aquarelle water coloured pencils, HB pencil and black pen.

Here is an image of my eight completed challenge. I drew my mind map with the intention of tying to make my ideas flow without needed arrows.

The criteria for our eight challenge was:

• You need to create a visual map that relates to your object
• Your object must be the central/starting point
• You need to have at least 6 related outcomes in your mental map
• You need to have at least 3 unrelated outcomes in your mental map
• You need to use various drawing techniques where appropriate
• You can include text in your map
• Use mixed media (more than just one type)

The Amazing Art Race Challenge 6

Here is an image of my seventh completed challenge. I drew my scientific diagram taking into consideration what my object is used for. I explained how to place the film into the reel and what to do to wind it inwards.

The criteria for our seventh challenge was:

• You need to use contour and tone
• You may need to show details and textures
• Include annotations/instructions

MEDIA: I used a HB pencil to draw the film developer reel and pen to draw the directing arrows

Here is an image of my sixth completed challenge. I created my self portrait using my object (a film developer reel).

The criteria for our sixth challenge was:

• Your portrait must be at least head to shoulders
• You must incorporate your object somehow
• You can use any media

 EXPLANATION:
I used the film developer reel to represent my head and face whilst I used three greyscale strips of film to represent each half of my hair and my fringe. I used a red toned strip of film to represent my clothing/shoulders.

Here is an image of my fifth challenge completed. I re-created my object (a film developer reel) out of film strips. The significance of the film strip is because it directly links to my object; you need a film strip in order to fufil the purpose of the reel.

The criteria for our fifth challenge was:

• The image you re-create must be your object.
• The media you use must directly relate to your object
• It can be done on any surface
• You may use your object if it suits the work you are doing

MEDIA: I used two film strips to re-createmy image. To help them stay in circle shapes I used blu-tak.

The Amazing Art Race Challenge 3a

Here is an image of my fourth completed challenge. I drew my object (a film developer reel) showing only the negative space (the background). Because my object has gaps in it, I added negative space in the reel aswell.
Additionally, I used my reel and wound a strip of film tightly around the linking cylindrical shape. The film is difficult to see because of this but it is present.

The criteria for our fourth challenge was:

• Incoorprate a 1-2 similar objects
• Have clear negatvie space
• Do not render you objects
• Filled in negative space
