The Amazing Art Race Challenge 1

Here is an image of my first completed challenge. I drew my object (a film developer reel) on an angle whilst it was on top of a table.

The criteria for our first challenge was:
  • You need to draw your object using 3D observational drawing techniques.
  • Your drawing must show: tonal modeling with a consistent light source, tonal contrast, detail and texture.
  • You must also show some consideration to the space around the object: ie the table or wall (not in detail though, just shade the negative space).
  • You must show a shadow being cast from your object.

MEDIA: I used a HB pencil on A4 paper

My 'Amazing Art Race' Object

In addition to my previous "The Amazing Art Race" post, I would like to share the object I was given to draw.

To make this race more challenging, we were not given the choice of what our object was going to be. We had to reach our hand into a bag and pull something out. We were to base all f out challenge drawings around this.

My object is a film developer reel. Here is an image of what my object looks like:

Introduction To The Amazing Art Race

We are currently working on an assessment for Art called "The Amazing Art Race".

Similar to the TV show, we have been given a group of tasks/challenges that we are to complete.

All of our task drawings are ti be based on an object we were given.

Once we have completed a task, after checking it off with the teacher, we can move on to the next.

We are to complete these drawings in our visual diaries as well as share our artwork on this blog, documenting our progress.
